Boston Children's Museum

Malware Remediation, Managed Hosting & a Ground-Up Rebuild

Client Bio /

Founded in 1913, Boston Children's Museum is one of the oldest and most influential children's museums in the world. Located on Boston's Fort Point Channel, it is dedicated to helping children understand and enjoy the world through hands-on, play-based learning across science, culture, the arts, and the environment.

Hosting, Security & Rebuild

I manage and host the digital properties for Boston Children's Museum, overseeing security, stability, and the ongoing rebuild of the site.

Remediation & Security

When we took on the account, the Museum's WordPress sites had been compromised with malware. My first priority was to clean the infected sites, remove the malicious code, and bring everything back to a known-good state. From there I hardened the platform against future attacks and moved the sites onto a dedicated WP Engine server, where I manage hosting and monitor uptime, security, and performance directly.

Ongoing Management

I now serve as the primary developer and hosting manager for the Museum's web presence, responsible for security, updates, backups, and day-to-day stability across the platform.

Rebuild

With the sites secured and stabilized, the focus has shifted to the future. I'm currently rebuilding the Museum's Education Hub from the ground up, with a full rebuild of the broader site to follow. This work is in progress and will be documented here as it ships.
