Evan Parker

Background

I came to development through design, and I still do both. At Fuseideas I build websites in React, Next.js, and WordPress, plus the emails, banners, and tracking that show whether any of it worked. I've been lead developer on Georgetown's Steers Center, Terramor Outdoor Resort for KOA, Bal Harbour, Boston Children's Museum, and the Fuseideas site itself, where I also designed and built the AI assistant. The one you can chat with here is a smaller version of the same idea.

I like being close to the whole job. Handoffs are where good work gets lost, so I enjoy sitting between design, development, and marketing and seeing a project through. I'm most at home on small teams. I work with clients directly, which I enjoy, and I care about the people I do the work for.

Before Fuseideas I spent nine years at Kemp Goldberg Partners, a Portland agency that later became Industrium, and then ran marketing for the American Association for Physician Leadership. My first job was at a BMX company in Orlando (UGP, The Shadow Conspiracy, Sputnic, and Subrosa), where I designed product lines, laid out catalogs, and built websites.

Outside of Work

I write singer-songwriter alt-country. I play guitar, bass, and keys, sing, program the drums, and record, mix, master, and release it all myself. Two of my side projects came out of that. I built Stagelet to help performers of all kinds find a local stage, and AIAPS to give artists a way to mark their audio as off-limits for AI training and to let listeners know their music isn't AI-made. The rest of my time goes to my family, good food, travel, and reading. I love learning new things.
