Events DC is the official convention and sports authority for Washington, D.C., managing the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Entertainment & Sports Arena, and other premier venues while promoting the District as a world-class destination for meetings, conventions, and special events.
I developed a responsive HTML email template for an Events DC marketing campaign promoting festivals, performances, and cultural experiences across Washington, D.C. The template was built for Mailchimp deployment using their merge tag system.
Working from agency design comps, I translated the layout into production-ready HTML email markup built for Mailchimp. The template uses table-based structure and inline CSS to ensure consistent rendering across major email clients, with Mailchimp merge tags for dynamic content and tracking.
Media queries adjust layout and spacing for smaller screens, allowing multi-column sections to collapse into single-column stacks while maintaining readable typography and image scaling.
The email was tested across major clients including Gmail, Apple Mail, Outlook, and Yahoo using Litmus. Outlook-specific rendering issues were addressed using MSO conditional comments and email-safe layout techniques.
